Teaching my regular classes at the Ross Farnsworth - East Valley YMCA.

Thanks again to Sesnsei Barry O’Brien for covering classes for me during my trip back to Illinois last week, and thanks to the Central Illinois Shotokan Karate Association for inviting me to teach last Wednesday while I was in town.

We spent tonight’s adult class going over everything that’s going to be on Wednesday’s rank exam. Three things stood out:

  1. One student asked if something was going to be on her test. I reminded everyone that my rank requirements are published here on my website.
  2. Another student who’s eligble for this test has decided to wait for the next test, and I’m extremely proud of his self-awareness.
  3. I’ve got a yellow belt mom who’s Tekki Shodan is pretty close to catching up with her brown belt kids!
